1: What is it PE?
What is it PE?
Premature ejaculation (PE) means coming too quickly, and it's one of the commonest of all sexual problems.
In our survey of several thousand British males, approximately 30 per cent of them said that they often or sometimes had this trouble.
We found that it's commoner in younger men - which is not surprising, as there's a distinct tendency for it to improve with age. Men generally get better control as they grow older.
However, a 2004 survey in Europe showed that many middle-aged men still have this problem. Fortunately good treatments are available.
2: Is baldness in your DNA?
It used to be that checking out the hairlines of other men in the family was the usual way to predict whether a man might expect to lose his hair one day. Now, there's a DNA test.
The test, called Hair DX, looks for a genetic variant found in most bald men. Men who test positive for the variant have a 60 percent chance of going bald by age 40, according to the company that offers it, also called Hair DX, which says the test also identifies a less-common variant of the same gene that, if present, means a man has an 85 percent chance of not going bald.
3: What are the best treatments for male pattern baldness?
There are two main approaches - hair transplantation or medications such as Rogaine and Propecia - but the best choice for an individual man depends on his age and the speed and degree of hair loss.
